Project Description: A Houston Airport System evergreen contract to provide miscellaneous structural engineering services on an as-needed basis.  Some examples of the type of work performed include:


Services Provided:

  • KC-135 Display at Ellington Field – Responsible for complete drawings, specifications, and contract documents for structural design of aircraft structural supports and foundations, grading plan, drainage plan, electrical lighting, landscaping, traffic control plan and construction cost estimate.

  • Marriott Parking Garage at Bush Intercontinental Airport - Submittal review of structural and architectural shop drawings; and

  • Bush IAH Terminals A and B Parking Garage - Structural evaluation of precast concrete beams.   Performed visual site inspection to determine the cause of concrete spalling at the bearing seats, which supported precast concrete “T” beams.  The “T” beams supported rooftop slab and parking.  Structural evaluation determined the cause for spalling and investigated alternative solutions for repair of the spalled areas.  Recommendations were made for replacement of the bearing seats with “fluor gold” teflon seats.
