Airside Improvements Program (AIP)

Project 554 – George Bush Intercontinental Airport,

Houston, Texas

 

Responsibility: Providing Construction Management, Inspection and Document Control Services as Subconsultant

 

Construction Cost: $29 million

 

Project Description: Construct new pavement for the Terminal E Ramp and upgrade the former Terminal C Southeast Ramp. The project involves installation of the fueling system (fuel lines, fuel pits, EFSO System) to serve the new Terminal “E” gates, 15,000 linear feet of 18” and 24” RCP storm sewer system and 11,000 linear feet of ¾” and 2” waterlines. The project also involves construction of new environmental station and approximately 166,000 SY of 17” concrete pavement for relocation of Southeast “C” Taxi lane and Terminal “E” apron.

Services provided include:

  • QA/QC by coordinating with QA/QC Manager and Testing Laboratories.

  • Prepare Cost/Progress Reports.

  • Review and process Submittals.       

  • Request for Information (RFI).                              

  • Prepare Estimates.

  • Negotiate Change Orders.

  • Value Engineering Proposals.

  • Prepare Monthly Pay Applications.

  • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Reports and Houston Airport System (HAS) Reports.

  • Conduct Weekly Progress Meetings and other design and construction related meetings.

  • Monthly briefings to the client for Project Cost.

  • Schedule.

  • Respond to complaints inside & outside Airport Operation Area (AOA).

  • Construction traffic control inside AOA.

  • Maintain “As-Built” drawings.
